Project Overview: Artist in Residence – Saretta Fielding

Client: NSW Health Infrastructure

Wiriiyn Media & Communications collaborated with NSW Health Infrastructure to document an inspiring Artist in Residence project featuring renowned Aboriginal artist Saretta Fielding.

Commissioned to create an artwork that embodies connection, inclusivity, and cultural respect, Saretta engaged NSW Health Infrastructure staff through conversations and storytelling that informed the design and meaning of her final piece.

Wiriiyn captured the full creative process, from concept to completion, highlighting Saretta’s painting techniques, use of symbolism, and reflections on how art can build bridges between cultures. The video also included interviews with Saretta and NSW Health Infrastructure leaders, exploring how the artwork aligns with the organisation’s Reconciliation Action Plan and broader commitment to cultural safety and inclusivity within the workplace.

Through this collaboration, Wiriiyn produced a 3–5 minute feature video and a suite of visual content designed for internal and public use, celebrating NSW Health Infrastructure’s ongoing journey toward reconciliation.

The final product showcases the intersection of art, culture, and community, reinforcing the organisation’s dedication to creating culturally safe spaces and strengthening relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
